Halleighleeuuur Breakfast!

Well....I have to tell you that I am not "One" of those mothers who say, " Oh I don't want school to start....I don't want summer to never end". My first response to that is....."Really? Are you kidding me!" But really down deep...I don't believe not one single one of them.  I don't know about you but I can't handle anymore...."Mom...I'm bored!" The last time one of my children who shall remain nameless, Uh....they did chores for two hours! Yes I am a bad Mama!!

Well...Lil Bon started school yesterday....and I actually sent her to the wrong bus stop. Thank goodness for sweet neighbors who called me and told me and actually took her to the right bus stop. (The sent a letter and the soulmate opened it...and needless to say didn't pay attention to the new stop!)

My big boo got his wisdom teeth out and was quite loopy for hours! In fact that's were I was when I got the phone call that she was at the wrong bus stop. The oral surgeon's office. Not a great place to be at 8:15 a.m. on a Monday morning! But thankfully...he made it through...so far he's ok. One side is pretty bad...but the others are fine. The pain meds they gave him had the opposite effect on him. He was wired out....wouldn't sleep and wanted to play video games that were quite frankly giving me vertigo. Not to mention the fact that he was playing a racing one and kept hitting the walls. ( not the best time to play a race video!)

So...I really need a Halleighleuurrr breakfast....but Boo doesn't start until Tuesday August 9th....so I guess I should really wait a week. I can't ever remember school starting this early....but there are NO complaints from this Mama!

8 Things You Need To Know About Kids?

Who really knows what's going through your kids minds at this day and age! I mean really! What something means to you ....means totally something to them. Here are some things that I think they get confused!

1.  When you say..."Not now"....that really means "Never" to them.

2.  When you say "Maybe"...let's be real...it's a straight up "Yes" everytime.

3.  Anytime you plan a meal....you can bet that they will be eating with friends that night!

4.  When you say "Let's go shopping?" When you get them anything...."They are DONE! And want to  get home immediately! Your going home with "nada"!! That is so NOT NICE!!

5.  When you stop and give them money to run into the store.....please know that you will not be    getting any change back....NEVAH!


6.  If you asked them to clean their room before they leave......KNOW you better check it to them prior to leaving. YOUR cleaning and THEIR cleaning are not even on the same planet?


7.  When you say ...."Did you brush your teeth? Uhhhh....you might want to check the toothbrush from time to time. Gross...but I'm just sayin!


8.  At the end of the day.....as parents we Know absolutely nothing......and they know everything! Uhmmmm.....what I want to know ...is what is age are they when this all turns around!

1.} If the blogging world had a talent show, what would your act be? It would have to be a standup comedy routine with a little singing possibly involved! A little "Saturday Night Liveish". Imitating someone....(not in a bad way!) well...maybe a little. Definitely something along those lines!!


2.} What's the most likely reason you might become famous? For years I told everyone I would work for Oprah someday....and way back in the day....I had convinced myself of that as well. But I couldn't move to Chicago...so that pipedream ended! But...I think it would have to be something work related....which is Radio/Sales/Advertising!


3.} What question are you repeatedly asked that you are tired of hearing? Oh my Lord...since I've moved to Denver...I hear the same ole thing everyday!! "WHERE ARE YOU FROM?" and it's always a little snippy or condescending....it drives me insane. And I always like to say....."New York....How bout you?"


4.} What's the last thing you broke? Just today I was in Hobby Lobby and I accidentally broke a little bowl! But I did tell the lady two aisles over and she told me not to worry about it. However...I did offer to pay for it!


5.} Finish this sentence. I can't believe I used to... worry about what people thought of me! That was a really long time ago. Now....I could care less! There was something that I must have been very insecure about....but I didn't realize it at the time. Now ...what you see is what you get!

Ode To My Oprah!

Oh my Lord...what am I going to do at 4:00? For as long as I can remember my girlfriend has come to see me every day at 4:00! Bad day or good day....she always had something to say!

My Soul Sista Oprah!

I would get nestled in to my favorite chair everyday and this would be "my time" for me to soak it all in! I don't think there has ever been a topic she hasn't covered. In every question she's asked or guest she interviewed.....it was always exactly what I wanted to know! Imagine that...she was reading my mind. It must be a broadcasting thing! I think personally .....it is certainly because she is so genuine and real. The unique thing is that every time she speaks it's like she's talking directly to you and no one else.

That is why so many people resonated and admired Oprah! She really gets it!

Oprah grew up in Kosiasko Mississippi where both of my parents were born and raised....near Clarksdale Mississippi! Not much going on in that little town. But one thing I do know.....that little town produced the Queen of the Delta and for that we have all been blessed!

So many things she talks about on her Master Class on the OWN Network I can totally relate to, but I won't get into that....just watch....some of you will get it!

I know it's not goodbye because she has her OWN Network.....but I will sure miss the daily shows and how much I would get out of them! I am so glad I at least got to visit her show in Chicago about six years ago with my friend Lynda Stoller. She hooked us up!

I Almost Went Coo Coo for Cocoa Puffs!!!!

You know what some southern people say....If you don't have something nice to say.....just come sit by me. Well I got something to say......so scoochie on ovah!!

Yesterday was just OK for me! I think it's just hit me that I don't live near my Southern
Sista's...aka...friends from Florida. I've just been a little funk that doesn't seem to be going anywhere for some reason. So my day started off with this picture taken before church!

Well...if you can see by the look on their faces....they weren't happy about taking the pic...but what else is new. Austin hates his picture made and makes it hard on the whole family when it comes time to take them. In fact...the soulmate took about ten and this is the only one worth showing due to his many faces he thinks is cute.

So after church...they wanted to send me to the mall to shop and have a girly day. Well....under the circumstances I really didn't feel like shopping so...I was thinking a NAP and chick flick sounded good!

Took the nap and went to see the new movie called "Something Borrowed"! (which was great by the way!)

So I was running a tad bit late and the ticket taker guy told me "no worries" just trailers still showing. He said..." if you need a drink the back concessions is open". So there was only one guy in line in front of me. So he leaves and I step up to hear the "Goth Chic" tell me...."Sorry I'm closed". I said..."the guy up front said you were open". She said...."well...I'm not!" Right behind her was a guy putting all a TON of popcorn in a clear big trash bag. I said..." seriously....I will pay you for a bag of popcorn"! She just stared at me and said..."well..that is all getting thrown away right now"!

I wanted to come across the Counter and go after her Goth self...but I remembered the sermon from earlier in the morning...that made me hold myself back. I said to myself..."Ok Missy Missy...this is not the end...but your crusty ole black eyeliner self is not going to make me miss my movie!

So afterwards I did see a Manager and he was just furious when I told him and he apologized profusely and little Miss Goth was SHO GONNA have some "splainin" to do!. He said...I know exactly who it was and I will take care of it .."I assure you!" He offered me a free pass...but I declined. I wanted him to know I was serious....not just complaining for the heck of it!

So I never got my popcorn...and I will try not to let that ruin my Monday!)But

Sista did get her point across!

Missing Me Some Southern Properrrrrrr Etiquetttes!

Helleurrrrrrr.....

I have to say that THIS WEEK....I am truly homesick to be back in Florida. It has been the worse week I can remember EVAH! Now..I am not one to complaina ..(that's really a joke!) but I will confess that some of the "status quo" people annoy the heck out of me!!! I mean Keep It Real or step aside. Get an opinion and get your butt off the fence!!!

When I asked to do something...I do it! I don't take six polls from people and ask them what I should do. If I didn't want to do it I wouldn't have told you I would do it. Oh....those days of over committing are gone. If I accept a task....you don't have to keep emailing me....trust me I'm on it. Uhhmmmm...has any one guessed it by now?

Have you ever known a "Control Freak"? Well....since I am being honest...."I can say that I have suffered from this in the past...so I guess it takes one to know one". But in my defense....I've had to deal with people with people with various addictions which required me to step up my game...just a tad!

What's the difference between people out West versus the South....here are just a few things:

1) Southern folks don't need a governing committee to oversee a task...."Just One Good Southern Mama In Charge will do! Trust me ...she can HANDLE IT! And if she can't ...She'll pay good money to have it DONE RIGHT by somebody who can.

2) I've been told that people out West like to keep it "Simple".  Keeping it "Simple" to a Southern Mama is disturbing and unproductive. Who want's to be like everybody else....that's boring as ALL GET OUT! No Southern Mama wants be like the lady down the street!

3) The women in the West....like to look "au Naturelle". Well Jesus Lord How Mercy....Southern women can be "au Naturelle".....but lets be real. We do throw on a little powder and lip tint with a smidgen of blush and still call ourselves that. A true Southern Mama never leaves the house without lookin in the mirror. (We just tell a little white lie...and say we don't have any on!)

4)  Women out West like to tell people they are going to put their Yoga pants on and go to the gym. A Southern Mama gets up and gets dressed for Yoga but doesn't leave the house. Our house has got to be in order before we get to "those other distracting things in life...like working out!"

5)  Most of the women I've met are so self absorbed that they don't volunteer for anything....and if they do....the bring in bottled water or desserts....something they can buy and not put in time or effort into. (A Southern Mama.....calls them slackers!)

6) Women in the West also like their hair rather on the flat side and not colored with roots showing at least two inches down their head. A Southern Mama will miss her gyno appointment in order to get her hair colored.

7) I have never seen women with such ugly feet! I don't know quite how to explain this. People are wearing flip flops right now who desperately need to pay some attention to their feet. This just grosses me out.....nuff said!!

So there you have it....trust me....I'm not stopping because I can't think of more! There's a ton more to say....but I'm a 20 percenter Southern Mama who's gotta quit blogging because I gotta get to getting some work done. Cuz the other 80 percent of the Mama's...."are busy" and they don't have time to do anything but complain about what the 20 percenters are doing.

I miss my Southern Mama friends who like to do things right. Do you know one! I KNOW MANY....I am so missing them right now!

 

She Has A Point!!

I have to admit she had a point! I mean really....who wants to get clobbered by girls that are WAY BIGGER than you. She's only 11....my little Bon and most of the time....she says "out loud" exactly what I'm thinkin. Could this be that I have rubbed off on her...or we are so innately alike it's not even funny.

She saw the other team from a distance and she started telling me some of the things that the other girls on her soccer team had already told her. Apparently, they had played them last year and remembered it well. The girls that they would be playing on Saturday were actually known for kicking girls and playing dirty. I told her what my PaPaw used to tell me...."the bigger they are....the harder they fall". I don't think that helped her any. Despite that...she looks adorable in her uniform...don't ya think?

So we have had three games thus far.....and she's pretty upset about not winning any of them. Did I tell you she is competitive? This is usually why she only does individual sports. Oh well.....she does love playing this game so we are happy about that.

As we approached the field and saw the big girls....she said, " If you think I'm getting out of this car and playin those big girls....you're crazy!" After much encouragment she finally got out of the car! At least it wasn't a shutout! They team actually held their own. Maybe next time!

It Was Just Ah'ight Dawg!

Have I told you about Wednesday Nights? Well Sista's.....on Idol night...let's just say T.V. is my friend! Tonight was Elton John!!! When I first heard this ...I'm thinkin..."this is gonna be very interesting". And well ...in my opinion was "just  ah'ight dawg". I really thought it was going to be better than it was.

My favorite of the night was Lauren! She sand," Candle in the Wind"....which is a song about Princess Diana, who I just loved. Miss Lauren did a great job! Sista can hit just any note. Love Love Her!!! Some of my FB peeps said that she could be my daughter....and I will so take that as a compliment!

I know the judges think they did us some big favor last week about saving Casey, but I just don't see it after tonights performance. OKAY...am I crazy or did they thing trimming his hair and beard qualifies him for a makeover. I think NOT. They should have shaved his WHOLE face. What up with that?

And for those of you who love Pia, let me just start out by saying...I really do think the girl can sang...but she is SOOOOOO BORING me! She comes out every week and just stands there. Is that what people do? I think NOT. She needs some dance lessons...but then again...WHO can dance in seven inch Jimmy Choo's! I'm glad she's pretty!!

James rocked it as usual...but po thang is gonna get an earful for saying, "Pepsi" when COKE is Idol's Sponsor. I think he realized it about six seconds after the comment. Poor Ryan was scrambling to mention COKE again...as their Sponsor. Ah...ya gotta love it. Of course that is an advertisers nightmare...and I don't think he'll make that mistake again.

Oh well...when I grow up, I want to be on Idol. Ya'll know ya'll would vote for me. Hugs to all my Sista's!

Idol Chat!

Is it me or does this year seem WAY different? I mean seriously...in previous years they wouldn't even allow instruments...now ....Lord Have Mercy....the choir comes out tonight with Jacob...totally drowning him out...which was a good thang...cuz Brotha was a wee bit off key tonight. (Although..I love him dearly!)  And lets be real.....is that fair to the other singers whose songs would not benefit from more than two backup singers?  uhmmmmm......that would be a NO.

I will have to say my favorite thing about Idol this year is Steven Tyler. He inspires and says things that have never been said before. He's refreshing and let's face it....clearly enjoying himself watching the ladies sing. ( When then camera pans over to him while their singing...he cracks me up!)

And if Ashton thinks she's Diana Ross.....she is sadly mistaken. I don't know what Randy was thinkin when he made that comment to her last week. Tonight she sang an unknown song and freakin Barry Gordy from MOTOWN was there to see her sing. Well.....thank God the trip wasn't a total waste for him. I am sure once he got a load of PIA singing, "All By Myself"...he was glad he came to Hollywood. She is definitely the Dark Horse to watch out for.

It is time for a girl to win. The last three AI winners have been male. I have to be honest I have chosen the past winner for the past year except for last year. Yes...I had Adam picked from the top 24. (I am still mad about that!) Of course....his sales have way outnumbered...Chris whatever his name was....from last year. Adam stood way out above the rest!

I am lovin me some James!!!!His story is amazing and I just love the fact that someone with a disability has beat the odds and has made it so far! Like he said tonight....he feels like he's already WON. 
I hope he's in the finals for sure.

My life has been revolved around Big Boo's Lacrosse tryouts so...I have been WAY to BUSY to even consider blogging. Hugs to all you Sista's.

Spoof On National Anthem....Ya'll Know I Don't Mean No Disrespect!!!

Please know that I don't mean no disrespect....because the National Anthem is a beautiful thang! But I have to tell you it seems like lately that everybody tries to put their on "stamp" on it...to make it "their own".
Attention Singers....there is only one Whitney Houston...and one Jennifer Hudson...so Ya'll give it up. Oh...and as far as it goes for Christina forgetting the words.....You try singing in front of millions and don't see if you mess up something! So...Christina wherever you are....don't listen to all the negative...this SoulSista has yo back!

Pizza Hut Delivery...Not A Good Idea!

Please know that I am not complaining...I am loving where I live

but today was I say I just had to laugh or I would've cried!

I took Lil Bon to the bus stop....and this is what I saw.

I'm sorry but this was just funny to me. Here I am at the bus stop with

8 freezing kids in my car waiting at the bus stop....because the bus was

taking so long...I felt sorry for the kids...so I said..."Come on in ...forget

everything your parents have told you...I am not a stranger and GET IN"!

All but one... little precious angel listened. "I said Honey

if you don't want to freeze you may wanna go back home or get in". She

got in very reluctantly. ( Yes her Mama did train her right!)

Back to my picture story! The man is actually a man I know...so I

rolled down the window and said...."Ken what on earth do you think you

are doing"! And what on earth are you wearing?" He said..."Just gettin

a little exercise!" I'm thinkin to myself.....

 I would rather run up and down in the stairs in my house

than to get out in this mess and exercise.

Forty-five minutes at the bus stop with 8 kids and I'm done. Finito..I'm over it!

So I delivered all the children in my car safely to their homes. My precious neighbor twins...

aka...the Bieber twins came on home with me. Lil Bon was in heaven all day....because they

stayed with me until their parents got home this afternoon.

Meanwhile...I order Pizza Hut...as requested by the kids. The lady said one hour and 30 minute

wait. I said OK...it's a little after 11:00 a.m. they'll be good. Pizza doesn't arrive until 2:15 p.m.

Everytime I called.....they left 20 minutes ago. He finally arrives and then when he goes

to leave...he gets stuck in my drive way. So the guy was just the nicest so I said I will go

and get my shovel and help you out.

This is where it get's real stupid.

We dig and shovel....dig and shovel..... and I think we've done enough and he gets back in the car

and just picture me in the front of this car. I said..."Hold ON Cowboy...just

make sure this think is in reverse....or Mama's gonna need a "Colorado plot".

He said, "dont worry"...I don't want anyone to get hurt. So his wheels just

spun a layer of ice on my head. I swear...at this point...I'm convinced I'm

getting punked...and Ashton Kutcher is in the bushes.

I go back to get a metal shovel and we start shoveling again....I can't feel

my fingers at this point. But I keep at it...and finally I got on the back of his

car and said..."let's try it again"...so he get's in and we finally get it out.

Pizza Hut Man...James....gets out of his car and gives me a big ole hug

and said...."you just saved me from calling Triple A so I am going to

give you a free pizza under your address for the next time you call".

At this point....I'm exhausted. This shoveling snow is NOT up my alley!

The soulmate has made me swear to him I would not attempt it again.

There is something though about seeing other women shovel snow....and

him telling me that I don't need to do that. I guess I feel a little guilty.

Can we say SnowBlower? Soulmate says we don't need one.

We have a 15-yr-old Son that's gonna want a car this summer...

so we don't need to worry about it. He Will Shovel Snow.

So here I am .....flying by the seat of my pants as usual!



It's Snowing Out The Wazoo!

They said it was coming! It's finally here and the snow hasn't stopped since 10 a.m. this morning. I got up to run to Target before it started to try to get last minute goodies..just in case we got snowed in for the New Year!

So...I am at the checkout line and glanced outside to see a blizzard going on!!Lil Bon said, "Mama...hurry up or we are gonna get stranded"! You mean in a wreck...not stranded. So....we grabbed the buggy and hurried out the door!! When I got home...which is only two minutes from my house....this is what I came home too!

Seriously....can you believe that this happened so fast!

It's been kind of funny lately....everyone keeps telling us that Colorado is breaking the weather to the DeLoney's very easy! "It's never been this mild"...is all we keep hearing! It snow's up in the mountains every other week or even day....but that's an hour away from us in Denver. So if you're a weather bug and watch the news at night and see it that it's snowing....it's usually in what we call the High Country...not in Denver particularly.

So all of this is making one boy very happy!

This is Troy....(my other boy....or so I've claimed him as mine!)

Troy is here visiting us from Tampa from our old neighborhood....he is one of Big Boo's bestie's!

He is loving all the snow and the soulmate took them up to Copper Mountain yesterday....so he's been in La La Land here with us! We love him dearly!

In fact....they are all playing in the snow right now...so I'd better get out and take some photo's!

Christmas In Colorado.....Our Very First!

Our First Christmas in Colorado 2010!

I can't hardly believe we have already lived in Colorado for six months! Wow has the time just flown by! Everything is so different here but in a good way! Colorado is very family oriented and there is tons of things to do here in any direction you drive. Right now though...primarily snow skiing. All of the ski resorts are just an hour from where we live......so this makes it great to head to the mountains and just ski for the day and come right back home!

This family picture was made over Thanksgiving up at Copper Mountain. We loaded the car and headed up to the slopes and stayed in a condo at Copper and had three fun-filled days of skiing and relaxation. Some of Austin's friends met us up there ....so he had friends to snowboard with while we went skiing with Coley. Except we split up and Austin left me on the side of a mountain.....I was later rescued by two very cute ski patrol guys....so you see....sometimes things just have a way of working themselves out!

I look forward to 2011 and meeting more new people and making sure my peeps are doing well in school and helping them pursue their dreams. Having a 15 -yr-old...who just got his permit...and an almost 11-yr-old sure keeps me on my toes. I have to say ...they both have been amazing about the move an everything that brings....like meeting new friends...in school and in the neighborhood....getting involved in our new church. So I am very proud of them for putting forth every effort to be happy and getting settled in.

Now that all the dust has settled and our basement is finished....I am curious to see what God has in store for me here. I miss all of my life-long friends I have made in Tampa and have been missing them all very much lately. I guess you could say....I am officially getting bored. So who knows what 2011 will bring....but I am looking forward to it!

It was YouTube video of this chic called GloZell ...and she has had me hysterically laughing most of the day. Yes...a grown woman....Likes ...myself...laughing outloud...my stomach is still sore from laughing! Harry Potter Loves A Screaming Mama!

It wasn't my idea....it was my daughter....Lil Bon! "I really want to go see Harry Potter tonight"! (Insert big sigh here!) This type of movie is usually reserved for "Daddy...Daughter Datenight". Usually because it's something he wants to see as well. However...the Soulmate was with Big Boo at a Lacrosse game. Hence thereforth...this journey began.

First of all....I have only purchased Harry Potter books and I am probably the only person on earth who hasn't seen a Harry Potter movie and never seen ANY Star Wars episode as well. Yes...I am the minority. I cannot stand Sci-Fi or this fantasy mess...yes that includes that Twilight crap too. Call me crabby...crazy....I don't care....I don't enjoy scary mess...or vampires....or anything else that's creepy.

Did I say I've never seen the Harry Potter movies...that would be H to the Y. And yes...I knew completely nothing about what was happening...other than a man named Dumbledorf had died in the movie prior to this one. ( I did get that one...pretty early on!)

So I was ok...until Harry follows some creepy old woman to her house and then comes this God awful big snake....Did I mention I hate creppyness....OH YES I DID! Well....I let out a SCREAM when this snake popped out on the screen...and as my friend Shawn would say....."I may or may not have wet my pants". Lil Bon said....I am not allowed to take her to Part two. So....let's get this straight....I thought this was the very last one...or that's at least what I was told prior to making this commitment. So now Part two doesn't come out until July 2011. Uhmmmm....the thangs....we do for our babies.

So I would like to officially apologize to anyone who I offended or scared at the theatre tonight. I know some one got a laugh out of this Mama screamin in Harry Potter. Unbelievable...fo real!

HaPpY HaLLoWeEn!!

Hey Sista's.......should I apologize for not blogging? I don't know why I haven't been able to make myself sit down and really pour my heart out? I guess I have so much to say.....but just don't want to ramble about it all since....there is SO MUCH I could say! But let's be real....I can't say everything I want to say because this IS THE WORLD WIDE WEB. I know it's not like I'm running for a politcal office....but I guess there are just some things better left unsaid.

The basement renovation is progressing though. They start the drywall and stone fireplace next week...so I am ready for that! Halloween is this Sunday and Lil Bon will be a Greek Goddess, which was a much better selection than....Lady GaGa or Micheal Jackson....which she previously expressed interest in!

Tomorrow we will be going on a horseback riding trail in the mountains and when we come back down...we'll eat dinner and then do their "Haunted House". This will be the first year that it hasn't snowed on Halloween.....according to the locals. It will only be in the 60's ....so everyone is acting like this is a definite heat wave. It feels absolutely great to us!

Tomorrow is Big Boo's 1st Fall Lacrosse game and then off the ride! Wishing all my Sista's a great weekend and Happy Halloween. It will be my Daddy's Birthday on Sunday......he always told us he "rode in on a broomstick". Love ya Pops!

The Birthday Off Track!

OK....so I used to celebrate my birthday all week....and clearly I would make this known to my immediate family within  the four walls of my home. However, the soul mate has been out of town for the last two days and let's just say....I am in desperate need of a Girls Night Out. (In A MAJOR WAY!) And I mean I don't need anything materialistic....just an occasional.....aweeee....it's Mom's Birthday.....let me take the trash out for you....or clean up the table......or Mom...let's just order in tonight? Nope....hasn't happened.

How can one thing that goes wrong just set the tone for the rest of the day? I did wake up and do my Bible Study! Maybe that's it...I usually do it late at night after everyone's in bed and it's actually quiet. I chose not to do that yesterday....uhmmm....Guess I'll need to talk that one over with the man upstairs.

After the one thing that actually threw the wrench in the day....it just got worse. Lil Bon has been out of school for the past three weeks due to her being in what they call...."All year around" school here." Oh...yeah....lots' of benefits....your children are supppose to retain more ...therefore create less work for the teachers...uhmm..Well...let me tell you about the cons.

#1. They want to stay up all night and sleep until 10 and then expect you to either to take them to breakfast and or lunch.

#2. You have to constantly remind them to read the required material that they are to continue while on break, as well as, visit sites that keep their mind sharp for upon return.

#3. They get bored at the drop of a penny. And most of their friends all have plans and are already signed up for things to do during this time. (I will know this for next time!)

#4. What do you do if you work....hire a Nanny? I am not working but I would like to because I am bored beyond belief....what then?

So...I am ready for traditional school....and she is on the track that is closest to the traditional school year calendar. So Lil Bon starts back on Oct 19th and Big Boo starts his fall  break this Friday. Praise God it's only for a week. This three week thing has driven me bonkers. We've shopped....did extra horse lessons....make pottery....went to the libraries....shopped some more....and eaten out almost everyday for lunch. (Hence the weight gain!)

So I will always remember my OFF TRACK Birthday week! Oh...and did I mention I'm homesick....for both cities....for my family in Memphis and my friends and family in Tampa.....so prayers are needed....because....I am OFF TRACK!!

Homecoming....A Whole New BallGame!

Way back in the day....your Homecoming dance generally speaking .....mean't that you had a date. I thought it would pretty much be the same when Boo started High School this year. It all started out the way actually! He told me that he was taking a girl (who shall remain nameless) to the dance. Oh....let's say about five days into saying that....IT ALL CHANGED....in a twinkling of an eye. POOF.....(this is where the smoke rises...) GONE! FINITO! When I asked what happened....."Don't worry about it Mom!" This was not what I was use to hearing! Usually he spills it.......pretty quickly...mainly because he has a WHOLE LOT OF his Mama in him!

So Now everything is this group deal....which in all honesty....is really the smart way to go in my opinion!
At first...I was a little disappointed. I thought to myself....I get to take pictures of Boo and his date before they leave.....yada yada yada....and it's his first year....so exciting.....but then I started thinking about the pro's and con's and the pro's came WAY OUT on top ....and here's why!

• There are no expectations! You don't know what your missing if you've never experienced it!
• Drama.....there is sure to be A WHOLE LOT of it ...if your date shows up with the same dress as one of her peers! (Let just be real...that is the epitomy of embarrassment for a woman!)
• You don't just have to dance with your date.....you can ask anyone of the girls in your group!( this is where the old rap song comes back into play....remember....."Hotel...Motel....Holiday Inn....If your girl starts acting up....then you take her friend"! He can have a good time and move on....if the drama starts up!
• He doesn't have to buy a corsage or pay for dinner!
• He can torment his friends who brought a date....but are totally bored with the girl they asked!

These are just five small reasons why going in a group would be a great way to go to the dance! I am sure there are many more.....I will say that we had a great day shopping at BUCKLE for his outfit. He will definitely be the best dressed one there.....and YES...I will have a picture up as soon as possible.
He informed me that he has invited everyone over here to take pictures.....as in ....OH  BY THE WAY...I almost forgot to tell ya! Thanks Boo....glad to hear that two days prior! It's not like we are about to have a basement renovation going on! 

Well....I am sure there will be Boy Drama....when he gets home. So I will keep you all posted!

Well.....He Thought It Was A Good Idea!

He's 14 years old....what does he know! Apparently.....so much more than his parents. We  knew Lacrosse was his passion...and IS his passion, but upon moving here....everyone kept saying...Lacrosse really doesn't start full swing until February. So he played relentlessly all summer and went up to the High School to participate in Strength and Conditioning to keep in shape. As luck would have it, the Coach for S & C is the Freshman Football Coach. As soon as he met Austin...he saw his size and asked him did he play football.

"No Sir.....I am a Lacrosse player" as he shook the Coaches hand." Well...here in Denver....Lacrosse players play Football......and Football Players play Lacrosse"....the Coach said. "Uh....Ok. ( I mean really what was he supposed to say after a comment like that!) So....the Coach would begin his courtship in talking Big Boo into football...much to his dismay.

So what am I doing right now you might ask. Uhmmmm.....lets see....I am SO KNEE DEEP in Football ...you have no idea. There are over 50 players and 10 coaches just for the Freshman Football Team. And yes....same ole same ole....the 20/80 rule....20 percent of the parents do 80 percent of the work. We do have an amazing team Mom....who is basically the assistant to the coach...I tell you I don't know how she does it and she works full time! But I am trying to help her with anything I can. Oh..did I mention that I am feeding the 50 players and 10 coaches on Thursday night. Yes.....It is being catered but the "Soulmate" and I decided not to beg other people to step up and give...(I don't have time for excuses!) So the only thing I have asked for is someone to bring yeast rolls, dessert and Sweet tea from Chick-Fil-A! Bada Bing....Done!!! I am having Pot Roast and Mashed Potatoes made from the Marie Calendars Restaurant here in Denver made for the team!

So back to Boo! I cannot say exactly what I would normally say....for fear of retribution of some sorts...but lets just say...Big Boo...is definitely a Lacrosse player....Note to self: When your son tells you what he is.....just listen to him. Let him decide what he wants to do.....without encouraging them to out of their comfort zone......just listen! And yes...I am talking to myself. We thought it would be a great idea for him to stay in shape while waiting to play High School Lacrosse in February....but there are fall Lacrosse Leagues he could participate in and will be when Football is over in October. Also...a great way to meet more friends and build a comradery with some other players. Well....at least the social aspect of it is working out.

And yes....let me be clear about one thing. The Social Calendar is up in and running in the DeLoney home. Big Boo has something going on just about every other night! I will posting more pics soon!Ok....he is towering over me....I thought he would be this big when he was a Junior not a Freshman.

The Hottie Trotti Hookup!

I thought I was on a roll....actually very proud of myself for sticking to an exercise program! In fact...I was getting to know the nice elderly gentlemen (Dave) at the check in counter at the Rec Center pretty good. Well...that is until I had my wreck two weeks ago yesterday! I mean seriously...I am very thankful God is apparently finished with me yet. He must know so much more.....

There was over 25 grand in damage to my car....so it was totalled last Thursday. So bada bing....had to go car shopping. As many of you know....Car shopping is not my thang. I mean really...whatever gets me from point A to point B and I'm good. At least that's what I used to think in my BL days. If you dont' know what that means...it's a term I coined myself. It means Before Lexus. Yes that's right! Cars really have never ever mattered to me, but once you drive a Lexus....it's hard to drive anything else. I guess now I am a Lexus Snot....thanks to Chris Trotti....one of my friends...hottie hubby...as she would say! Ya see...Chris made it real simple...ya tell him what your looking for and he just calls you when he finds it.....no going back and forth and crap...it's just what it is. I must admit..I kinda like not spending all day hanging out at a dealership....playing the cat and mouse game with the salespeople.
(Who by the way.....always think they can fool me!)

Yes... I live in Denver now...not in Tampa....far away from the Hottie Trotti...who always made my life a little more simple for me when it came to my car. And yes...I called on him for advice .....and he politely reminded me that it didn't matter what I got..because someone would end up hitting me again in a few months....since this is the 4th time since February! Yeah....and I wasn't laughing at that one...bad karma...I told him that he was not to speak those words out loud. But he does have a point.

So....I headed ovah to the Denver Lexus Dealership and told them what was going down....and they ended up helping me out and getting it all done. This time....Hottie Trotti wasn't there to tell me to take his car and go to the International Mall and he would call me when the car was ready. I had to sit there and wait for more than three hours to get it all DONE DID! I politely told my sales person that my guy back and Tampa didn't make me wait like this at all.....I had to rub it in a little....but they do have a great massage chair at this dealership! But the whole process made me miss my Hottie Trotti who always had my back. I miss you CT! Shawn ....you can give him a big huggie and relay this message to him!
